Compliance Manager
Overall Responsibility : Oversee safety, compliance and industrial health programs at the plant for the poultry company. A ssure prevention of injury, illness, property and environmental damage. Work to assure compliance with Company and other regulatory agency requirements.
Reports to : The Board of Directors
Qualifications : Bachelor of Science – Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene or closely related discipline. A minimum of 5 to 7 years relevant experience in a Safety Management capacity.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Effectively manage Loss Prevention Programs for the area to ensure prevention of injuries, illnesses and property loss.
- Effectively manage regulatory requirements to ensure prevention of citations and penalties.
- Work with Environmental Engineer/Area Compliance Manager to develop, implement and manage the Environmental Programs for the plant/complex.
- Assure proper management of the safety program established for contractors visiting plant sites within the area.
- Oversee scheduling and conducting Monthly Safety Meetings
- Provide direction in revision and update of Safety Programs
- Manage to assure training is conducted for updated programs
- Oversee annual required safety training to new hires, existing hourly employees and supervisors
- Responsible for assuring plant safety inspection and audit activities are effectively managed
Special requirements:
- Experience in oversight or management of multiple locations
- Demonstrated knowledge of ammonia refrigeration and electrical systems
- Strong collaborative and influence skills
- Demonstrated excellent communication skills including the ability to correspond verbally and in writing with regulatory compliance personnel and company management and operations personnel
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements
- High level of interpersonal skills
- Proficient personal computer skills, including MS Office based word processing, spreadsheet and presentation programs
