Finance And Accounting Manager

Overall Responsibility : Supervise the accounting function, in charge of administration (processing, verification) of the company daily transactions, and provide administrative support.

Reports to : Manager, Finance, Accounting and Administration

Qualifications : Ideally possess BSc or Diploma in Accounting with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the financial accounting team
  • Assist with day-to-day administrative support and assist in supervising administrative staff
  • Prepare Monthly management reports, annual statutory financial reports, and the annual tax return
  • Assist the CFO in the preparation of forecasts, strategic plans and the annual budget including preparation of commentaries and presentations for the parent company
  • Lead and manage the financial accounting and administrative functions of general ledger, accounts payable and fixed assets
  • Prepare the annual budget and five year business plan packages for parent company
  • Review the capital expenditure proposals prepared by project managers and prepare financial evaluations for these proposals
  • Review the current systems and processes and implement improvement projects
  • Special project work, both one offs and ongoing development projects

Title/Position : Finance Accounting and Administration Manager

Accounting Clerk
 

Overall Responsibility : Responsible for processing transactions, passing accounting entries and performing general administrative tasks.

Reports to : Manager, Accounting and Administration

Qualifications : Five (5) subjects at O’Level/CXC including Maths, Accounts with at least 3 years work experience in a similar job.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Accounting Clerks record and put together summaries of the financial transactions of a business or other organization.

  • Receive and record invoices and arrange payment
  • Prepare and send invoices to debtors
  • Check and process loan applications
  • Calculate and distribute wages and salaries
  • Prepare regular reports and summaries of accounting activities
  • Prepare financial statements and debtors' listings
  • Check customers' credit ratings
  • Verify recorded transactions and report irregularities to management
  • Prepare reconciliations of accounts

The general functions of the Accounting Clerk fall in the following categories:

Bookkeeping maintains and reconciles records of financial transactions (such as sales, wages and petty cash) and prepares regular statements showing receipts, payments and balances of accounts.

Collections Accounting keeps records of people who are behind in payments, prepares reports of loans and accounts that have amounts owing and forwards on reports for legal action.

Payroll Accounting calculates, prepares and distributes wages, taking into account overtime and deductions such as tax, Medicare levy, health insurance payments and superannuation.
