Poultry Processor

Overall Responsibly : Poultry Processors slaughter, dress, cut, trim, prepare and pack poultry.

Reports to : Processing Manager

Qualifications :

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Catch, cage and unload cages of live poultry
  • Shackle and suspend live or slaughtered poultry for killing or processing
  • Remove internal organs of poultry
  • Trim excess fat, blood clots, bruises and any undesirable matter
  • Separate meat from around the bones using hands or a knife
  • Sort and stack poultry
  • Cut whole birds into portions using a power-driven blade
  • Pack dressed whole birds into bags, crates or cartons
  • Handle ice to chill poultry
  • Load boxes of processed poultry onto vehicles manually or using equipment

Special Requirements:

Poultry processors work in a cool environment and may be required to stand for most of the day. Hands and clothes may become soiled with blood and feathers; but health regulations ensure that poultry processors work under hygienic conditions. Shift work or early-morning starts may be required.

  Engineering and Maintenance Manager
 

Overall Responsibility: Applicants must have an understanding of all plant equipment including processing and packaging equipment, operations and applications to proactively maintain equipment and facility in a condition that allows production to sustain an efficient operation.

Reports to : The Technical Division Manager

Qualifications : A minimum of three (3) years plant maintenance experience preferred; high school diploma and trade school certification; must have experience in electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, HVAC and pneumatic systems.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

The E&M Manager is one of the main contacts between the various plant departments. They must ensure that requested work is clear, prioritized, given a realistic completion time and properly authorized and coded.

Responsible for managing and completing all maintenance and repair requests from production in a cost effective and timely manner.

Responsible for supervising and scheduling the work of the maintenance technicians.

Responsible for establishing and monitoring quality repair standards from internal and contract maintenance personnel.

Responsible for assisting the production managers in the scheduling of work for the internal maintenance specialists and outside contractors.

Performs equipment preventive maintenance services using appropriate check list; inspects, analyzes and diagnoses all machine and assembly component problems and defects, using diagnostic equipment as required. Performs all needed adjustments, repairs, rebuilding, replacements and installation of machine and assembly components; ensures that all guards removed are properly replaced.

Accounts for all labor, parts and operational supplies in an accurate and timely fashion; initiates and completes all necessary documentation to comply with regulatory requirements.

Responds to breakdowns in a prompt and appropriate manner to minimize down time, overtime, cost and interruption of sales/customer service.

Maintains current knowledge of maintenance methods and practices, including use of diagnostic equipment and procedures recommended by equipment manufacturer. Practices and complies with all company policies and procedures, including safety and other work rules; includes compliance with all regulatory mandates, such as lockout/tag out, electrical safety, confined spaces, etc.

Special Requirements:

Must have basic math and communication skills and knowledge to accomplish required paperwork and to read technical manuals, instructions, safety and warning signs, etc. Must have knowledge and ability to safely and proficiently use a variety of hand and power tools, as well as diagnostic equipment. Should be skilled at operating welding/brazing equipment, lathes, milling machines and other shop equipment.

Special Knowledge, Abilities, Skills:

Equipment Incumbent must supply own hand tools; may be required to possess valid driver’s license. Must have ability to routinely and frequently stoop, bend, reach, climb ladder/scaffolds, and lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds; often required to work in tight, cramped spaces. Must have good hand-eye coordination and possess motor skills enabling mobility and quick reflexes, as well as dexterity in ceiling height areas. Must have visual/hearing ability sufficient to recognize or detect equipment malfunctions and warning devices/signs.

  Sanitation Manager

Overall Responsibility : This position is accountable for overseeing the operations of the Sanitation Unit. The total cleanliness, sanitation, and food safety of all processing equipment and support areas as dictated by the guidelines of Regulatory Agencies and company policies

Reports to : Technical Division Manager

Qualifications : Minimum Qualifications: 5-10 years experience in a Sanitation management role within food manufacturing facility.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Manage, coach, and train sanitation team members in safe and effective sanitation practices, and company policies and procedures.
  • Manage the processes of cleaning and sanitizing the entire facility
  • Monitor and verify the effectiveness of sanitation practices
  • Manage budget and cost guidelines for sanitation department
  • Identify, report, and problem solve conditions or practices that may compromise food safety or overall sanitation effectiveness

Special Requirements:

Provide leadership and direction to team members, including maintenance and warehouse departments. Skills to be successful in the job include:

Effective leadership, coaching, training and mentoring abilities.

Experience in handling and training on the safe and effective use of sanitation chemicals.

Experience in developing and utilizing effective sanitation practices.

  Processing Manager
 

Overall Responsibility : This position will be responsible for directing and administering processing and inventory control and all functions relating planning, processing, packaging, packing and control of the products to meet customer requirements.

Reports to : The Technical Division Manager

Qualifications :

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in slaughtering, dressing, packaging and packing poultry. Train new workers in slaughtering, dressing, packaging and packing duties. Observe and evaluate performance of workers to ensure conformance to processing standards. May substitute for line workers in emergencies.

Maintain optimum inventory levels

Establish procedures and supervising physical inventory; ensuring proper control planning and scheduling programs

Assure conformity to quality standards

Solve problems resulting from material shortages

Motivate subordinates to optimize their performance
