In yet another of our inserts on 'Inspiration", Harper Gallagher our guest blogger links Inspiration with "strange love".

I was like that, I have written since I was in my teens and always the greatest struggle for me was finding my inspiration or in deed any inspiration of any kind. That's the problem with being a creative soul; your creators' heart is leashed and relies heavily on regular doses of inspiration to keep it beating.
Many find their inspiration in a sunset or other such sight in nature. Some find it in the works of others. While others find theirs by altering their minds by means legal or illegal or both.
As for me I found mine when I found my loves. I am in love and loved
by two wonderful, amazing women. They are the source of my inspiration,
my muses. In part yes because we love one another but under that
thinnest layer is all of the rest.
In our little daily conversations I find new threads to weave through what I happen to be working on at the time. In their arms I find the physical sensations I then translate for the readers eyes. In the interactions within our relationship I find insight into the mechanics of relationships so my characters and theirs come to life for the reader.
Even in peoples reactions to us and our unusual home life I get to see the best and the worst in people. That best and worst often then has a comeback by giving new life to characters and situations that otherwise would have been devoid of realism, devoid of life.
Through out history people have spoken of their inspiration, often personifying it as a muse. My muses are real flesh and blood people. Since I found love with them I have not yet had a day devoid of new creativity. So my advice is to find love and find inspiration, nothing else has worked nearly as well as having my heart leashed.
