5/15/08 Twenty20 Cricket is an exciting shortened version of Test Cricket. It is very similar to One Day Cricket.
WHEN WAS TWENTY20 CRICKET INTRODUCED?
5/15/08 Twenty20 Cricket was first introduced in the United Kingdom by the England and Wales Cricket Board in 2003. It was introduced as another professional but shortened version of competitive cricket to be played among counties. The game was not totally new as it was around in some form at the amateur level since the 1960s.
WHY WAS TWENTY20 CRICKET INTRODUCED?
5/15/08 Most people will know the purest form of the game - Test Cricket , is normally played over Five days. In fact in days gone by some matches were palyed for a scheduled Six days. Even with One Day Cricket been introduced, some still argue that Twenty20 Cricket is a much more lively version of the game better suited for the entertainment of today's spectator and just as important - the Television audience.
WILL TWENTY20 REPLACE TEST & ONE DAY CRICKET?
5/15/08 Certainly the ECB had no intentions of replacing the two older versions of the game. The intention was to make available another format of the game to meet the varied needs of the worldwide Cricket audience.
